As many of you know, I am ripped off constantly by a boatload of butt-munching internet terrorists, most of whom are too stupid to write their own copy, and have absof*ckinglutely no idea how to cast a spell...or probably what a spell even is. From the moron who copied and pasted me and then SIGNED HER NAME TO THAT as if she wrote it (scarier part of that is she published a book, so I wonder if she put some of my writing in there, too, her name is Toni Silvano, btw) to the douche-nozzle who ripped off another article of mine and had the nerve to BS me that he was a practitioner of ATR's but would not tell me the name of his godparents when I asked or answer any basic questions that someone of his stature would have given me because I'd asked and it would be incredibly rude not to tell me (translation, he was a BS artist, and had never been initiated into any ATR tradition, lol,) who told me "Oh, I had a web designer design my site, and s/he must have just taken some of your copy. Sorry, I will take it down," I have heard every dumchit excuse for why I have been ripped off...and...you know, if you don't argue much and remove it (the usual thing that happens,) I'm USUALLY very nice about it considering I could rape your bank account, shut down your site, and do things entirely legally to you that would make you rue the day that you were ever born solely because you lifted my hard work and tried to pretend you were the smarty-pants who created it all.
And the most memorable thing I've heard? "Copyright is not enforceable on the internet."
You all know how I feel about plagiarism... O, me so litigious, me sue you long time. ;)

I am a writer myself but only as a student officially in school and therefore have very little if anything published (unless you count my homework and occasional rants on various blogs websites and my university site).
However, I recognize the importance of not only giving credit where credit is due, but furthermore asking for permissions in writing to use someone's material, even as a reference to one's own work. Furthermore, proper and appropriate references should be given for the work of another, both in text citation, I.E. (Sanchez, 2011), as well as a bibliography style alphabetical list at the end of an article or other form of writing giving credit to the originator of any sources one might use is vital for legal and legitimate use of material. Without written permission, if mo credit is given, then theft is theft and this is akin to what Herman Slater is alleged to have done with two books that are still circulating on the Internet.
So I say, if I write spells for myself, they are mine, if I put them on the internet and someone uses them for the betterment of their lives, with proper respect and credit given me when it works out, great. But I have to agree with you Cat, although I do not even know you I I know to heck you don't know me, that if someone steals then someone steals.
Taking material that isn't yours is wrong, and if the root/spell worker/ master of knowledge doesn't exact retribution then perhaps karma will just have a way of biting you on the arse for being such a selfish self entered narsasistic S.O.B.
