A good technique I've learned from the school of NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) is that the subconscious does not respond (a lot like in spells) well or frankly at all to negatives and negations (no, not, never...). So if you tell yourself for example, not to think about a purple rabbit, well odds are that that's all you'll be able to think about. So if you want not to think about a purple rabbit, then you have to replace the thought with something you'd rather think about, say a pink elephant. So, if you find yourself being negative or thinking it to death, have an automatic other positive thought ready at hand to switch to. After a while, this will become as automatic as driving while adjusting the radio. Hope this helps someone out there :-) Ciao, ragazzi.
